About Aaron

A communications career grounded in journalism and academics, shaped by nonprofits, and driven by audience insight.

With more than 10 years of experience in communications at a renowned health care association nonprofit, I have built and executed communication strategies that engage professional audiences, strengthen brand voice, and drive measurable results.

In my role as a communications manager, I oversee project teams and multichannel content and advertising campaigns targeting diverse audiences including association members, patients, the public, clinical partners, health executives, and advocacy professionals.

I’ve also produced web content, sponsored articles, news releases, brand messaging, print materials, internal communications, and e-newsletters as well as managed and written detailed, story-driven annual reports for both the CAP and its philanthropic foundation.

Throughout my career, I have focused on producing clear, compelling messaging and content tailored to physicians and health care professionals. I have pitched journalists and analyzed and reported on media coverage and campaign metrics to optimize reach and effectiveness, ensuring that content strategy aligns with organizational priorities.

My academic background—a master’s in English literature and a bachelor’s in journalism—strengthened my analytical writing and storytelling skills, which I have applied throughout my career in communications. Early experience as a reporter and editorial assistant sharpened my ability to distill complex topics into accessible, engaging narratives, which is an ability I continue to rely on when communicating across audiences.

While not working, I can be found reading at home with my tiny dog or walking around Chicago most likely on my way to a concert or movie.
